least 150 volunteers help in some way on each home (site selection, finding a
family, pouring the foundation, hanging drywall, painting, making and bringing
lunch, cleaning up and so forth).
Habitat
homeowners help build their home and pay for their home.
Habitat
homes are in Gallatin, Portland, Hendersonville, Westmoreland, Mitchellville,
and rural Sumner County.
It
takes between 15 and 25 gallons of paint to complete a Habitat home.
Applications for Habitat homes are available at your local Chamber of Commerce.
There
is an international connection. Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County
gives a tithe to Habitat for Humanity in Poland.
