Fun and Useful Facts about Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County.

DID YOU KNOW?

  It takes approximately 1 to 3 months to build a Habitat home.

  Habitat designs a floor plan to fit a family’s needs.

  It takes about 150 pounds of nails to build a Habitat house.

  At least 75 volunteers help in some way (site selection, finding a family, pouring the foundation, hanging drywall, painting, making and bringing lunch, cleaning up and so forth).

  Habitat homeowners help build their home and pay for their home.

  Habitat homes are in Gallatin, Portland, Hendersonville, Westmoreland and rural Sumner County.

  It takes between 15 and 25 gallons of paint to complete a Habitat home.

  Applications for Habitat homes are available at your local Chamber of Commerce.

  There is an international connection.  Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County gives a tithe to Habitat for Humanity in Poland.

  21 homes have been built and the community has bonded over the efforts to continue to improve their lives.
