Healthy communities start with a home.

Beyond the Build

At the Beyond the Build Luncheon, we come together to celebrate the progress, possibility and partnership that shape Sumner County. This annual gathering invites you into the heart of Habitat for Humanity’s mission, offering a closer look at how safe, affordable housing creates strength, stability and opportunity for families in our community.

During this inspiring afternoon, you will explore the impact of our work, including The Hudson, a first-of-its-kind pocket neighborhood that will introduce six new homes designed to foster connection and empower families to thrive. You will also learn more about Pafford Place, our recently completed nine-home subdivision, and how we continue to provide essential home repairs that help residents safely age in place.

Together, we will hear how financial wellness education equips future homeowners with the knowledge and confidence to build long-term stability and become engaged members of the Sumner County community.

Beyond the Build is more than a luncheon. It is a celebration of community, progress and the life-changing power that starts with a home. We invite you to join us as we continue building a better future, together.

Why This Luncheon Matters

A decent, affordable home is the foundation for health, education, financial stability and community resilience. When families have a safe place to call home, it becomes possible to focus on what matters most.

Your participation helps us:

  • Build and preserve affordable homes

  • Support local residents through home repairs

  • Create pathways to stability through financial wellness education

  • Strengthen neighborhoods across Sumner County

Together, we build a better future.

Our Work

  • The Hudson

The Hudson is a first-of-its-kind development in Sumner County, featuring six thoughtfully planned homes that create a close-knit, supportive neighborhood. This innovative model reflects our commitment to building communities that connect families, encourage shared strength and provide long-term opportunity.

    Highlights:

    Six single-family homes

    A layout designed for connection

    Family-centered outdoor spaces

Built with affordability, resilience and community in mind

    Innovation starts with a home.

  • Pafford Place

Pafford Place represents what can happen when a community comes together to build hope.

This completed nine-home subdivision now provides families with the opportunity to grow, thrive and plan for the future. Each home stands as a lasting reminder that when we build together, we strengthen our entire community.

I know when I get here, I can close that door and not have to worry about anything. It’s a nice feeling.” Tiwanna Adams, Homeowner

  • Repairs

Our Home Repair Program helps long-term residents stay safely in the homes they love. Repairs and accessibility modifications make it possible for older adults and individuals with mobility needs to maintain independence and dignity.

Last year, Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County completed:

    26 total home repairs

    19 critical home repairs

    7 accessibility modifications

    9 weatherization improvements

A resilient community starts with a home.
