Brianna’s Story: A New Chapter, Built with Love
For Brianna, a full-time single mother of two, the journey to stability has been long and often uncertain. After escaping an abusive relationship, she spent years navigating homelessness, transitional housing, and unsafe rentals—all while raising her son Ben, now 9, and her daughter Kennedy, 7.
There were nights when they didn’t know where they’d sleep. Days filled with fear and constant moves due to rising rent and neglectful landlords. The dream of a safe, stable home felt impossibly out of reach.
But Brianna never gave up. She kept working, kept showing up for her children, and kept believing there had to be something more.
Then one day, driving past an empty lot with a Habitat for Humanity sign, hope sparked. Later, when she saw a Facebook post about the Homeownership Program, she took a leap of faith and applied, never imagining she’d actually be chosen.
But she was.
Since joining the Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County family, Brianna’s life has been transformed. She’s paid off her debt, raised her credit score, built savings, and—most importantly- given her children the gift of a home they can truly call their own.
“I still haven’t fully grasped its real,” she says. “But knowing my kids will have their own bedrooms, a safe place to grow up, and a home that’s ours forever—that means everything.”
For Brianna, this home is more than a roof overhead. It’s a turning point. It’s proof that her strength, her sacrifices, and her unwavering love have brought her family to a place of peace.
Now, she looks forward to first-day-of-school photos on the front porch, marking her kids’ growth on the pantry door, and hosting her first family Thanksgiving.
“This is the fresh start we’ve dreamed of,” Brianna shares. “And it’s only possible because of Habitat and the incredible people who believed in us.”
Brianna’s story is one of resilience, renewal, and the power of community. It reminds us that when we build homes, we’re not just building shelter—we’re building hope.
